Eligibility

If you’re 17 – 24 and live in San Mateo and northern Santa Clara counties, we’re here to support your journey to success.

Eligibility Situations

If you are in high school or taking college classes, you qualify if you:

  • Have low income*

AND have at least one of these challenges:

  • Struggle with basic skills*
  • Learning English as a second language
  • Involved with the justice system
  • Homeless, runaway, or in foster care (or aged out of foster care)
  • Pregnant or a parent
  • Have a disability

If you are not taking classes (except adult education, YouthBuild, or JobCorps), you qualify if you have at least one of these challenges:

  • Dropped out of high school
  • Missed the most recent quarter of high school
  • Graduated but have low income and struggle with basic skills or English*
  • Involved with the justice system
  • Homeless, runaway, or in foster care (or aged out of foster care)
  • Pregnant or a parent
  • Have a disability

Your income qualifies if you receive Public Assistance (i.e. SNAP), or if your income is below these guidelines:

5 $23,548
6 $27,541
6+ For each additional person, add $3,993

You may have a skills deficiency if your reading, writing, or math is below the 8th-grade level or if you struggle with problem-solving or communicating in English for work, family, or daily life.
