NOVAworks Earns High Performing Workforce Board Designation

July 8, 2026

This designation recognizes the collective efforts of our Board of Directors, staff, community partners, education providers, employers, elected officials, and the thousands of individuals we have had the privilege to serve.

We are proud to announce that the California Employment Development Department (EDD) has officially designated NOVAworks as a High Performing Workforce Board for the period of July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029.

The state recognizes workforce development boards that demonstrate exceptional performance, accountability, innovation, and impact in serving job seekers, businesses, and communities. It reflects NOVAworks’ commitment to delivering high-quality workforce services and achieving strong outcomes for the residents and employers of San Mateo and northern Santa Clara
counties.

A Regional Achievement

A High Performing Workforce Board designation signals that the region benefits from a workforce system that is effective, responsive, and focused on results. It reflects strong partnerships among employers, educational institutions, community organizations, and public agencies working together to address workforce challenges and expand economic opportunity.

For career seekers, it means access to proven workforce services, career navigation support, training opportunities, and pathways to quality employment.

For employers, it reflects a workforce system that understands industry needs, supports talent development, and helps businesses build the skilled workforce necessary to remain competitive. For the broader region, it demonstrates a commitment to economic vitality, workforce innovation, and long-term prosperity.

Over the past several years, NOVAworks has expanded sector-focused workforce strategies, strengthened employer engagement, launched innovative workforce initiatives through NOVAworks Launch Lab, increased access to career services through community-based Connection Sites, and developed new approaches to serving individuals facing barriers to employment.

This designation recognizes the collective efforts of our Board of Directors, staff, community partners, education providers, employers, elected officials, and the thousands of individuals we have had the privilege to serve.

As workforce needs continue to evolve, NOVAworks remains committed to building innovative solutions that connect people to opportunity, help employers find talent, and strengthen the economic future of our region.

We are honored to receive this designation and look forward to continuing this important work through 2029 and beyond.
