New Resource: Healthcare Occupational Skills Training Program Inventory

June 4, 2026

NOVAworks has published a new Healthcare Occupational Skills Training Program Inventory for San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

The healthcare industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors in our region, yet employers, educators, workforce professionals, and job seekers often struggle to navigate the complex landscape of available training programs and career pathways.

To address this challenge, NOVAworks has published a new Healthcare Occupational Skills Training Program Inventory for San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

This inventory was developed as part of NOVAworks’ broader healthcare workforce development strategy and provides a comprehensive overview of healthcare training and credential opportunities available throughout the region. The resource highlights programs offered by community colleges, adult education providers, and other training organizations that prepare individuals for careers in healthcare.

Serving the Region’s Stakeholders

It helps career seekers explore healthcare career pathways, identify training programs aligned with career goals, and understand educational requirements and credentials.

It helps employers gain visibility into regional talent development resources, identify existing training programs that support workforce needs, and better understand local healthcare talent pipelines.

And it helps our region’s education and workforce partners strengthen coordination across providers, identify opportunities for collaboration, and support alignment between training programs and employer demand.

Ongoing Work

The inventory is one of the early steps in NOVAworks’ ongoing work to convene healthcare employers, education providers, and workforce partners to strengthen regional healthcare pathways. Recent initiatives include the formation of a Healthcare Industry Sector Panel, a Community Health Worker workforce analysis, and a Regional Healthcare Coordination Project focused on expanding access to healthcare careers and improving health outcomes across the region.

Healthcare workforce challenges cannot be solved by any single organization. They require collaboration, coordination, and shared information. This inventory is one step toward building a stronger, more connected healthcare workforce ecosystem for our region.
