Training Services

NOVA administers a variety of grants which provide career services, including a limited amount of funding for training services.

When funding is available, NOVA can provide assistance with training for customers who meet eligibility requirements and who need additional skills to return to work or to change careers.

Below is a list of current grants and status of available training funding:

  • Training may be available through the following grants:

Adult Allocation Grant
    • Eligibility for Training Funding: Adult job seekers who live in either Santa Clara County or San Mateo County, and who experience one or more barriers to employment (NOVA’s Adult Priority of Service” policy criteria).  Eligibility is determined at the time of NOVA Job Center Registration.
    • Status of Training Funding: As of April 21, 2016, training funding is no longer available.  NOVA expects additional training funding to become available in the Fall of 2016.

Dislocated Worker Allocation Grant
    • Eligibility for Training Funding: Dislocated Worker eligibility. Eligibility is determined at the time of NOVA Job Center Registration.
    • Status of Training Funding: As of April 21, 2016, training funding is no longer available.  NOVA expects additional training funding to become available in the Fall of 2016.

Dislocated Worker: Additional Assistance Grant

    • Eligibility for Training Funding: Dislocated Worker eligibility. Eligibility is determined at the time of NOVA Job Center Registration.
    • Status of Training Funding: As of September 23, 2016, limited training funding is available.


National Dislocated Worker Grant


Ready to Work Grant
    • Eligibility for Training Funding: Adult or Dislocated Worker job seekers who have a high school diploma, have been out of work for 27+ weeks, have a background in high-tech occupations and need training in high-tech skills.  Eligibility is determined at the time of NOVA Job Center Registration.
    • Status of Training Funding: Limited training funding is currently available.
